Perilla seed oil is obtained from the mature seeds of the medicinal plant Perilla in the Labiatae family. It is a highly unsaturated natural oil and has the highest fatty acid content among all natural plant oils found so far. PERILLA OIL - Production method
It is obtained by cutting the whole plant of Perilla arguta, an annual herb in the family Lamiaceae, through steam distillation at the beginning of flowering. The yield was 0.07% ~ 0.21% (fresh grass) or 0.33% ~ 0.41% (hay). It can also be extracted three times with petroleum ether at room temperature, each time for 2 hours, the yield can reach 4.1% after combination and evaporation.
